30 July - 30 September Upfront  Summer Exhibition

Works of local and international themes on show for sale at the Upfront Gallery. My work hangs on the walls of the great barn next to one of only four dedicated puppet theatres in England. This theatre is the realisation of the dream of John Parkinson, the founder artist, to house and put on show his huge collection of puppet art. You are in for a treat if you can catch a show on your visit. See the website for times and tickets. And the cafe is great too!

Blossom I (right) and Blossom III (left) on show at Upfront Gallery, nr Hutton in the Forest, Penrith
Blossom I (right) and Blossom III (left) are hung on the great gable end of the barn at the Upfront venue CA11 9TG. Both are ink and watercolour paintings using the Nihonga technique of watercolour and ink on paper. They are images of the same tree, one depicting its beauty and the other echoes in its outline the nightmare of an atomic cloud. This August we have seen the 79th anniversaries of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and of Nagasaki. Never again!
