2021

4 - 12 September 2021 hArt

I shall be exhibiting as a guest artist at hArt exhibiting my studies of Shintō shrines and icons that have a significant role in the Imperial history of Japan.

Also on show at this venue are textiles, sculptures, furniture and jewellery made by some greatly talented creatives including Katharine Guerrier, Jenny Pickford, Brian Maiden and Belinda Terry.

hArt Venue number 56, the studio of ceramicist Bridget Drakeford.

Open every day from Saturday 4 September until Sunday 12 September from 10am until 5.30pm.

Upper Buckenhill Farmhouse, Fownhope, Hereford HR1 4PU, two miles south of Fownhope on the B4224

Telephone: 01432 860411

We extend a warm welcome at this safe outdoor venue where both Bridget and I will be invigilating. Looking forward to seeing you!

Absolute Classics have arranged with pianist Noriko Ogawa to set her playing to paintings from Shrines, a collection of my work based on shrines and icons of the Shintō faith in Japan. Alex McQuiston has produced a video of our collaboration for the series of classic concerts at Netherby Hall in the wild and wonderful Borders. Noriko's solo performance is stunning. Most of her carefully chosen selection of music is by Japanese composers, pieces rarely seen actually played before us.
